‘My children were killed hungry’, mother grieves after Israeli air strikes on Gaza
A Palestinian mother in Gaza says her children were killed in an Israeli air strike without having had suhoor, the pre-dawn meal which initiates a day of fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
‘My children were killed hungry,’ she weeps. ‘I was asleep. I woke up to find
my husband and my children dead.’
The family was one of many who have struggled to find food as Israel imposed a complete blockade on the territory, blocking all aid from entering Gaza since 2 March.
Israel has resumed its bombing campaign on Gaza with US approval, as the humanitarian crisis worsens. With food, water and medical supplies severely limited, aid organisations warn that starvation is becoming as great a threat as the air strikes themselves.
The Israeli military is resuming its all-out assault on Palestinian families in Gaza, drastically escalating its violations of the ceasefire, killing and wounding hundreds. The Israeli military is attacking Palestinians after already relentlessly targeting them after over 17 months of genocide, mass killings, and forced starvation.
In coordination with the genocidal escalation in Gaza, the Israeli military is simultaneously launching a massive attack across the occupied West Bank, terrorizing and detaining Palestinians, and causing massive destruction along the way.
At 2am in Palestine, the Israeli military began a coordinated bombing assault across all of Gaza. Journalists on the ground report Israeli strikes targeting dozens of schools, tents, mosques, and apartments all at once, using more than 100 war planes.
The US facilitated the Israeli government 15 months of genocide, and it continued to fund the Israeli government’s blocking of life-saving aid during the “ceasefire.” We have arrived at this deplorable point because the US continues to arm Israel.
Let us be clear: the US is working with the Israeli government to commit this genocide. We will never abandon the struggle for Palestinian liberation. Our demands will only grow louder in the face of repression:
